Can you name all the wonders of the world? Are there 7 or 11? Should they be "natural" wonders or just wonders? Which is your favorite? Like most people, I've only really seen one up close but have seen others thru pictures. Which one? Niagara Falls.
From the first time I saw it as a little child to every time I see it now, it just fascinates me! There's just some awe-inspiring magic to it! Maybe it's the power of the rushing water, the mist it creates that even touches the other side of the road??? I can't explain it, but it's like I see it for the first time, every time.
People come from all over just to look at it. I can't even count the number of people I myself have brought to see it. The reaction is always the same, they are amazed! They take pictures & video, they gawk and stare, they even become speechless. It always brings a smile to my face.
I have to say that we do have the better view. Because no matter what angle, its mesmerizing. Expalins why we have so many visitors from the States, our side is truly better! Then of course, there is the Maid of the Mist. Something I would never do. Too close to the falls & on a boat & getting my hair, face wet, nope, not for me. But power to those of you who dare!
What else is so intriguing? People that have risked their lives, some dying in the process because they went over the falls in a barrel Well, I think they're nuts! But, I have had my picture taken a few times pretending I'm going over. Cheesy? Sure but it's the Niagara experience. So is the Arcade & the wax museums and all the souvenir shops. You've seen it all before but you see them over & over. Not to mention in the winter, you have the festival of lights. Sure, like me you've probably seen them so many times, all the Disney characters are all the same but every year I try and make it my mission to see it again. And if your lucky enough, you'll see all the different colored lights that shine on the falls even fire works!
Most of all, in the winter(not my favourite season), if it's cold enough, you'll see the light posts & trees near by frozen with ice. It's just beautiful! The mist from the falls is so powerful that it freezes the trees & light posts across the street too!
It's one of my favourite things to do & see. Staying over-night or a weekend is always a fun trip for me. Not to mention you can cross the border & do a little shopping.
So you probably guessed it, I was there recently. And yes, it just amazing!
P.S.
Next time you're there & want a really good stone oven baked pizza, go to Antica Pizzeria on Victoria Ave.
